ImPACT Program

ImPACT (Immediate Post Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing)
is the most widely-used computer-based neurocognitive testing program
in the world. It has become the standard tool in comprehensive clinical
management of concussions, implemented effectively from high school to
professional levels of sport. ImPACT testing can be administered by a number
of trained healthcare professionals including medical doctors, athletic trainers
and physical therapists to assist in determining an athlete’s ability to return to
play after suffering a concussion.

Concussion Rehabilitation Program

Concussion Management requires a multidisciplinary team approach. Physical
therapists are an integral member of this team. Hallmark Health physical
therapists are trained to individualize post-concussive exercise progressions
for athletes. The rehabilitation program consists of a five-stage progression
addressing cardiovascular training, strength training, balance training,
plyometrics and sports-specific movements to increase exercise tolerance
without provoking concussive symptoms. Hallmark Health physical therapists
will work closely with your athlete’s athletic trainer to ensure continued success
towards safe return to play.
